The passing of Norman Mailer

I read the obituary of Norman Mailer yesterday. Yet another writer who I haven't gotten around to reading, but whose infamy proceeds his work. I particularly found this quote interesting, when commenting on American leading female writers he said they were:

'fey, old hat, quaintsy and dykily psychotic.'

Mmn, not after that feminist demographic then?
